Now that school is out for the summer, maybe I'll have a little time to keep up with blogging!  We had a great school year overall.  The girls moved to a new charter school and with it came a lot of adjustments!  One major one for me was driving them to and from school each day.  Plus, we had to wake up much earlier!  The girls made some good friends, had some good teachers, and make really good grades.  The next school year will bring more adjustments because the school is expanding.  We are committed to making this their spot for education until college, so we are at the school for every event, assembly, fundraiser, you name it!

Dayna is officially a freshman in high school!
Cassy is a fifth grader!
Iris is still in preschool :)

Tropical Storm Beryl

We are inside on this Memorial Day listening to crazy rain and wind from tropical storm Beryl.  I got a lot of cleaning and organizing done and John and I bought some great new decorations for the house- because we needed them and because it is my birthday week!

Easter Weekend 2011

We had a weekend in paradise with the Miller side of the family at a beach house on St. George Island in the Gulf.  The house was beautiful and spacious and the company was fabulous!  The sand on the Gulf side is whiter and finer than the Atlantic side and the kids had a lot of fun playing in the waves and building sand castles.  Papa led the way with the fishing and even let the grandkids reel in a few fish (it was the same one cast and recast- by the last grandkid, that poor fish was worn out!)  Mema had planned out the meals and everything was abundant and delicious.  We were able to attend church at a small branch in Apalachicola about 20 min away Sunday morning.  They had 21, we added 15, so it was a similar experience to the branch we attended years ago in Key West.  Beautiful little town and very friendly people.

New Year's Resolutions!

It's always fun to start a new year with high hopes and even higher expectations for every aspect of my life and for the family. One of my resolutions, is to be more like several of my sisters-in-law and keep up with my blog. It beats journaling and scrapbooking and I'm at the computer for hours a day, so why not? I'm hoping to post once or twice a month. So far in January, Cassy turned 9 and we are researching new schools for Dayna and possibly Cassy for next year. Iris is registered for preschool in the fall and we're all excited for her.

What year is it again?

How funny to re-visit the family blog only to realize how outdated it is! I blame the lack of attention on having a toddler to occupy any free moment we have! Let me upload some recent pics to start the process of getting us up to speed.

Happy Easter!

We are looking forward to spending time with family tomorrow and pondering the great gift and sacrifice of the atonement. John is blessing Iris in sacrament meeting and his father and mother, 3 younger brothers and their families are visiting for the blessing and lunch at my parents. Cassy is not feeling well and I'm hoping it's nothing serious. I'd like to get a family picture taken in the cute Easter outfits. Cassy left some carrots on the front porch for the Easter bunny because Duh mom, he's not Santa Claus, he'll come through the front door. Good thing she's around.
